At Simply Sunflower, we are all about making sure our customers make wise choices. Our lives affect how we preform at our jobs, how we can care for our loved ones, and most importantly our overall quality of life. Some health books, diets, and exercise techniques can be overwhelming and exhausting to think about. We want this to be fun & simple. We have narrowed our suggestions down to an easy-to-remember Top 3 Ways to Create a Healthy 2017!
1) Eat Right.
Food is what powers your life. It empowers us to move, think, and breathe - all of that requires food! Chowing down on fast food, sugar, processed food, and high calorie-dense foods affect how you feel, how much energy you have, and your ability to work toward your dreams. Use food to your advantage! Instead of eating things that will slow you down, eat something that will really give you a jump-start!

Half of your plate should be filled with fruits and vegetables.This is a great way to get more fiber and nutrients. Plus it makes your plate beautiful with all of those bright colors!
The other half of your plate should contain whole grains and lean proteins. Yes, an entire half of the plate can be filled with delicious meat and bread - you don't have to cut these out to be heathy!
Make sure you are getting enough dairy! Lower-fat milks have just as much calcium and vitamin D as whole or 2% milk, but with less fat and calories.
Lastly, cut back on sodium and empty calories from solid fats and sugars. Sautéing vegetables with Simply Sunflower Oil instead of butter or olive oil is a much healthier option! Simply Sunflower has no trans-fat, less saturated fat, and contains 41% Vitamin E!
2) Stay Fit.
"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" as Dory would say in Finding Nemo. That's the trick, just keep moving. If you hate running - don't do it; instead try Zumba, or biking, or go on a brisk nature walk. Those are all great ways to get some cardio in! Staying fit doesn't require running 5 miles everyday. It requires consistency. Find something you enjoy and if you just decide you don't enjoy any of it - put on your favorite music and start dancing. All you need to do is keep moving!
3) Make Healthy Choices.
The last recommendation we have is to in general make healthy choices! This means showing self-discipline when your coworker brings a huge box of chocolates to share. Treat yourself to one, but don't go overboard.
Make a healthy choice about your personal bedtime. Just how kids get cranky when they miss a nap, our adult bodies are also affected when we don't get the sleep we need. Sometimes you just need to let the dishes and laundry wait until tomorrow. Go to bed. Your body will thank you!
